Walsh & McAuley

Marc Walsh and Ciaran McAuley are the latest exciting, Trance act to come from the emerald Isle of Ireland. Progressive, vocal and sometimes Balearic in sound the duo have amassed a huge fan base across the world which is literally growing by the day. Likened to the original Irish, Trance duo, Agnelli & Nelson, Walsh & McAuley first met when both were competing in a competition for the chance to play at Judgement Sunday in Ibiza. Although unsuccessful it seems faith had a part to play as the duo have gone from strength to strength producing tracks under the alias ‘Walsh & McAuley’.

Although as individuals the two draw influences from different DJs and producers they as a team have found a sound that is unique to them and has been stamped on each of their productions. It is still just the beginning for Walsh & McAuley and the future shows potential with their productions already receiving airplay and support from some of the top international DJs such as DJ Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O’Callaghan, Agnelli & Nelson, Stoneface & Terminal, Matt Darey, and Re:locate to name a few. Their music has featured on a number of top international labels such as Armin Van Buuren’s “ARMADA”, Paul Van Dyk’s “VANDIT” imprint and Roger Shah’s “MAGIC ISLAND RECORDS”. On top of these huge labels their work has also been released on fresh and exciting new labels such as Infrasonic, Monster Tunes and S107..

Their own original track “A Long Way From Home” was released on INFRASONIC as was supported by a lot of big names making its way onto the airwaves via Armin Van Buurens, A State of Trance radio show. The next two follow up singles to this were snapped up by Roger Shah for his label Magic Island and BOTH featured on his last compilation album. “Aestas” and “I’m Only Human” a melodic, Balearic vocal number featuring Antonia Lucas like their predecessor were heavily supported and charted high in every download chart. Their successful production work led to a lot of remix requests from well respected artists and labels.

One of their most anticipated remixes this year has been of Chicane’s “What Am I Doing Here”. Having been played and supported religiously by the Trance elite, Chicane themselves have used their remix in their live performances. Fast approaching 300,000 youtube views the remix was released in July 2011 and hit the top spots in the Trance charts. Another huge remix released in 2011 was their take on the vocal number, “Why Do I Care”, by Trance star tyDi and Canadian vocalist, Tania Zygar released on S107 Recordings(Armada) which soared into the Top 20’s of nearly every download store. These two tracks have cemented their reputation as great producers and remixers and added to their successful collection of remix work which also includes, “Filo & Peri feat. Audrey Gallagher – This Night(Walsh & McAuley Remix) released on VANDIT, “Shogun ft Emma Lock – Save Me(Walsh & McAuley Remix)” released on S107 and “Nadia Ali – Promises(Walsh & McAuley Remix)” released on the Smile In Bed label.

Just as successful with their original productions as their remixes, recent success came in the form of collaboration with Giuseppe Ottaviani called “Ready” which featured the haunting vocals of Emma Lock. The follow up track “Transmission” has just seen it’s Radio Edit be included and released on Paul Oakenfold’s “DJ Box July 2011” compilation CD while the full track will see release later in 2011. Added to Transmission is a lovely, untitled as yet collaboration with UK producers Sly One Vs Jurrane and another Walsh & McAuley original called “Soraya”. Both will hopefully be out before the end of 2011 while no doubt their remix success will continue as the end of the Summer see’s them begin work on a new vocal number by Solarstone

Away from the studio, the duo have also been impressing at their gigs. They have amassed a huge, loyal following in their homeland which is sure to spill over into mainland Europe and beyond. The duo have had a great period in terms of gigs and have not only headlined many gigs themselves but also played alongside artists such as Above & Beyond, Paul Oakenfold, Greg Downey, Agnelli & Nelson, Mat Zo, Roger Shah, Jon O’Bir, Mark Sherry and many more. 2011 seen them make their successful debut in Italy back in April while November 2011 see’s them play in Holland for the first time at the 4 arena event, “Quest4Trance”.
