Comic Strip was one of the hottest tunes on PvD’s VONYC Sessions compilation, Two Faced set dance floors on fire and with her upcoming EP Random Madness / Lesson Learned, the Irish energy bomb will blow roofs and speakers”
- VANDIT
“Orla has the potential to be the first female to really crack the Trance world. She has that extra little bit of charisma that ignites dance floors”
- Col Hamilton – LUSH! “Orla has an infectious dedication for the dance scene. She has energy behind the decks and a real hunger to learn in the studio. I am sure she will keep on this path until she is topping bills for years to come.”
- John O’Callaghan
DJ/Producer/Radio Host from Ireland Orla Feeney comes from a musical family of Opera Singers, musicians and recording artists which gave an early interest in music and sound which led Orla to study Radio & Media, Sound Engineering and Music Technology in various collage’s BCFE, BIFC and Poppyhill Recording.
DJ
“Her passion in music is clear to see, her sheer raw energy and emotion creates an unbreakable connection with the dance floor as she takes every single person on a roller coaster journey of powerful, energetic and uplifting synths and melodies. This is trance as it should be!” Orla has had a meteoric rise on top of regularly appearing at festivals becoming a regular fixture at the mighty Super Club Lush in Portrush. Having made her Lush debut in February of 2010 supporting Richard Durand, Orla’s second appearance in the prestigious club was to headline the main room, attracting well over 1000 clubbers. Her Halloween appearance in 2010 alongside Jordan Suckley & Richard Durand seen her play the headline set time to a sold out Lush firmly cemented her status as clearly one of the Lush crowd’s favourite DJ’s. Not an easy feat to achieve and in her own words… “I’ve been on the Lush dance floor and said I’d sell my soul at a chance to play here, so that was a dream come true for me. A Lush crowd are hardcore and not the easiest to win over so to have them chanting your name at the end was astonishing and something I’ll never forget and am truly grateful for.”
Producer
It was in early 2009 that the relatively unknown Orla Feeney was thrust into the limelight.
Trance Energy and Paul Van Dyk is treating the tens of thousands to an almighty headline set when from nowhere he drops the almighty anthem that later instead of being “that track PVD dropped,” became known to the dance world as “Orla Feeney – Comic Strip”, a raw and powerful trance number with enough energy to rip any dance floor apart. If there ever was a tune to announce your arrival as a Producer this was it. Immediately snapped up by Vandit records and still being played to date by the top jock’s around the globe such is its lasting effect.
Following on from “Comic Strip” was the B-Side “Two-Faced”, with melding lushly melodic breakdowns with hard driving basslines, Feeney made it all seem so easy!
We fast forward to the present. Following on from remixes for Indecent Noise on Spellbinding Records, Sean Murphy on Goodgreef Digital, “Solid Sleep – Club Attack” for Vandit’s 10th Anniversary and the huge remix for none other than Giuseppe Ottaviani on his track “Fallen” the next chapter in the Feeney Discography has been written.
Orla’s second EP for Vandit was released November 29th 2010. Starting with “Lesson Learned” which had the potential to be one of the tracks of the year and with an almighty remix by the Italian master Giuseppe Ottaviani seals the deal. Receiving the seal of approval from Paul Van Dyk and support from Armin Van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas, Ernesto & Bastian, Judge Jules, Tom Colontonio and many more it once again like its predecessors, destroyed dance floors.
With new music set for release in 2011, Orla continues to add to the Vandit legacy.
